WOMEN IN FOG, LONDON
Four sisters, all widows, lived together in a gloomy Victorian house in the Camberwell district of London. Always dressing the same, looking the same and never returning a cheery good morning, it was said they were witches. In December 1969 they were found dead after a faulty gas heater poisoned their home with deadly carbon monoxide. They were laid to rest unmourned, yet on two occasions a milkman and a postman early on a foggy morning have reported seeing four women silently walking the streets around Camberwell.
