MIDNIGHT WINTER VILLAGE
The beautiful village of Little Missenden lies peacefully tucked away in the Chiltern Hills west of London. In 1827, in a house next to the churchyard, lived Rev. Jabez Withers. He would often work late into the night writing his sermon which he would thunder from the pulpit on Sunday morning. One Christmas Eve the light went out as Withers wrote his lat. Yet it is said that a light still shines from this now empty house late into a winter’s night.
